On the Pacific coast of Oaxaca, Mexico, lies a small paradise unlike anywhere else in the country: Zipolite, Mexico's only officially recognized nudist beach.

A place of freedom

Zipolite has been welcoming naturists since the 1970s, when hippies discovered this virgin beach. Today it remains a place of freedom, acceptance and connection with nature.

Getting there

The closest airports are Huatulco (HUX, 41km) and Puerto Escondido (PXM, 73km). From either, pass through Pochutla and take a colectivo to Zipolite.

Is nudity mandatory?

No. While nudism is permitted on the entire beach, it is never mandatory. Many visitors enjoy the beach in swimwear alongside those who are nude.

The vibe

Expect reggae, natural food, mezcal, yoga classes and some of the most spectacular sunsets in Mexico.
